Scott Ensign Davies
1971-2017
He loved Life, Family and Technology
On August 20, 2017, Scott lost his courageous battle with Leukemia while surrounded by his family at the age of 46.
Scott lived more life in his 46 years, than most would in a long lifetime. In his youth, Scott was a great prankster, and particularly loved to freak out his little sister Alison. But perhaps his signature moment was winning the “Oscar” two years in a row in his LDS Ward's video festival for his portrayal of "The Evil Mister Rogers" which he also wrote and directed. Those who have seen those very short videos have never forgotten them. Scott finally did come of age when he served an LDS Mission in Alberta Canada. While his mission matured him, it did not change his zest for life.
On 7/18/07 Scott married the love of his life, Robyn Israelsen Davies. Robyn truly captured his heart, and became his soul mate. When they were married, Scott’s life was also blessed with three boys. Colby, Cameron and Kyler quickly became friends, and sons to Scott.
Scott added golf, traveling, camping, cycling, and UTV riding in the mountains to his life's pursuits. Truly Scott was happy doing anything in life, as long as Robyn and family were by his side. Nothing made Scott happier than supporting and watching those that he love, achieve and succeed at they things they loved to do. There was never a bike ride that Robyn completed, a game won, or life event that happened for the family that Scott was not heavily supporting.
Scott's love of computers came at an early age. Even at a young age he wanted to know how they worked, and how to use them. This desire was partially satisfied when Scott became a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. This led to his dream vocation as he worked for a number of high tech companies as a Systems Engineer. He finally found a career with Zions Bancorp, where he worked to become the VP of Network Operations. Scott's thirst for education and understanding, persisted at the time he was diagnosed with cancer he was pursuing a degree in Information Technology Management.
Please don't feel bad for Scott for the life he didn't live, but instead celebrate the life he did live. A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on Saturday, August 26 beginning at 2:00 pm at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary,1867 N. Fairfield Road, Layton UT. Friends and family of Scott and Robyn are invited to stop by the mortuary for visitation from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm, to express their love and support. Scott specifically suggested casual dress.
Scott is survived by his wife, Robyn, who proved to be an angel in disguise during Scott's battle with cancer, and by Robyn's three sons; Colby (Brianna), Cameron (Candace) and Kyler. He is also survived by his Father and Mother, Glen and Maurine Davies, his siblings, LeeAnn Gardner (Paul), Jeffrey (Kristine), Matthew, and Alison Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Utah Chapter. Scott's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at LDS Hospital who so diligently and lovingly cared for Scott, as well as Zions Bancorp who were so kind and patient with Scott during his illness.
