Scott Alan Fairbourn CLINTON- Scott Alan Fairbourn, 50, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 following a valiant battle with cancer. His optimistic attitude was inspiring to all those who loved him throughout this fight. Scott was born January 2, 1962 in Murray, a son of Marion Dean and Laura Annie Butterfield Fairbourn. He was married and eternally sealed to Susan Jean Jeppsen July 22, 1989 in the Manti LDS Temple. Scott had lived in Sandy, Draper, Logan, Roy and Clinton. He graduated from Alta High School and attended Utah State University. He was employed by the Weber School District at Roy Junior High a€" Scott was loved by all the students and faculty and returned an equal love to them. He was a member of the Roy City Coin Club. Scott was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in the Bogota, Colombia mission, and was an Eagle Scout. Scott was a devoted father and had a tremendous love for his children. He was always fun and had a great sense of humor. Family meant everything to him. He lived and worked for their happiness. He offered sound advice and his wisdom always included the benefits of mercy. He was very brave and his whole life was about service and this service brought great joy into his life. Scott is survived by his beloved wife Susan of Clinton, one son and three daughters, Colby Alan, Courtney Sue, Annie Brin, and Saige Maylee Fairbourn, all of Clinton; his mother, Laura Fairbourn of Sandy; one brother, Sterling D. (Marla) Fairbourn, Lyman, WY; one sister, Renae (Michael) Emery, Perry; one sister-in-law, Kathy Fairbourn, Murray. He was preceded in death by his father, his brother Melvin and his grandparents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Clinton 5th Ward Chapel, 2206 West 2300 North, with Bishop Kenny Gray officiating. The family will meet with friends Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, and Tuesday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
