LAYTON a€" Scott Ernest Freeman, 60, passed away suddenly Friday, March 18, 2011.

Scott was born May 5, 1950 in Brigham City, Utah to Dean Bert Freeman and Florence Mae Jensen. He Served an LDS mission to French Canada, Montreal where he loved the people and always talked about them.

Scott graduated from Box Elder High then went on to Utah State University where he met and married his first wife, Jenny; they were later divorced. Scott went on to get his MBA from the University of Utah.

Scott married the love of his life, Kaye Howard Schumann on January 7, 2000. They have one child together, Nicole Aimee, who is the glue for the entire family.

Scott had a brilliant mind and worked for many Fortune 500 companies, both in the United States and overseas. At the time of his death, he was doing work in San Diego, CA as an independent consultant.

Scott loved working with the Boy Scouts of America. He helped many boys earn their Eagle. He loved the outdoors. His favorite vacation would be camping in the Uintas. He loved traveling and showing his wife and daughter the world. Scott loved people and never had trouble striking up a conversation with a perfect stranger. He also was an avid Ute Fan with season football tickets for years.

Scott is survived by his wife, Kaye and daughter, Nicole (Layton), four children from his first marriage; Rochelle (Dallas, TX), Brandon (Brigham City), Benjamin and Danielle (Perry), four step children; Scott (Tiffany) Schumann, Derek (Ashley) Schumann, Cassie (Dan) Larkin and Braedon Schumann, three grandchildren; Kayson, Corbin and Chloe, whom he loved very much, two brothers and a sister; Bert, Alan and Julie Carpenter.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Helen Rose Larkin.

Scott will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Layton, Utah Kays Creek Stake Center, 2680 E. Cherry Lane. Friends may visit family Tuesday from 6 a€" 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Wednesday at the Stake Center from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton.
