Scott Keith Wilson, 68, a life-long Ogden resident, passed away peacefully at his home yesterday evening, Monday, August 7, 2023.
Scott was the second of six children born to Don Keith and Donna Jean Baker Wilson and was raised and schooled in Weber County. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably during the Vietnam War, being discharged as a Seaman Apprentice from the USS White Plains in January of 1974.
He loved to ski and to fish. He was passionate about little league baseball as a youth and later became quite a golf aficionado. Scott had skilled hands. He played a number of musical instruments, particularly the French horn, and throughout his life was known as someone who could fix just about anything. His quality work as a handyman kept him employed for years simply via word of mouth. Sipping Bailey’s Irish Cream while watching the Chiefs win the Superbowl was the perfect day for Scott. It just didn’t get any better than that! He had a quick wit and a well-developed sense of humor. Scott will be remembered for his compassion, particularly for the care he helped give his two sisters, who both had special needs. Scott enjoyed family gatherings in recent years.
Scott – we will remember your smile and think of you fondly and often.
Scott is survived by his mother, Donna Wilson of Ogden; a daughter, Katy Jo Wilson of Oregon; grandchildren, Savannah, Brody, and Jeremiah; his brothers, Steven Wilson of Ogden and Thomas Wilson of Washington Terrace. He was preceded in death by his father, Don in 2022 and by his brother, Dan and sisters, Edee and Penny.
Memorial Contributions in his honor are suggested to Best Friends Animal Shelter or to the Combined Veterans Honor Guard, both in care of Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT 84401, who are providing his cremation care.
