BOUNTIFUL a€" Scott Allen Kofoed, 49, passed away the morning of Tuesday January 24, 2012. Born to Max LeGrand and Grace Watkins Kofoed on December 10, 1962 in Sacramento, California, Scott graduated from River City High School in 1981. He served an LDS mission in the Virginia Roanoke mission and soon after was sealed to Julie Gunnell in the Los Angeles temple September 16, 1988. After 22 years of marriage the two divorced. He served in the Utah Army National Guard for six years. Scott also received a bachelor''s of science degree in electrical engineering in 1989, followed by a doctorate in bio-engineering in 2002, both from the University of Utah.

Scott''s professional achievements include 22 patents in the field of respiratory flow measurement. He is co-founder of KORR Medical Technologies where his designs in metabolic measurement devices are manufactured and sold to the medical and fitness industries.

Throughout his life, Scott was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully as an Executive Secretary, Ward Clerk, and Elder''s Quorum President. His most cherished years were spent volunteering as a scoutmaster and scout leader. He also gave of his time in coaching many baseball and basketball teams for his sons. He was generous to all, offering employment, funds, time, his home and his heart to any in need.

Scott''s joy in life was his children, Tyler, Alli Kae, and Jason. He spent many hours with them on the ski slopes, boating, working on cars, golfing, constructing science fair projects, helping with homework, and just hanging out in the family pool. He shared with them his unique sense of humor and love of music, and delighted them with his ongoing quest for the discovery of clever quips and poetic prose.

He married Maretta Hartsfield Myers on September 22, 2011. They lived happily together in Orem, Utah until his untimely death.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maretta Hartsfield Myers Kofoed, children Tyler LeGrand (Maranda), Allison Kae, Jason Scott, grandchild Alexandria Taelor, and former wife, Julie Gunnell Kofoed. He is also survived by sister Cherie (Richard) Cawley, sister Anne (James) Otter, brother Charles (Brenda) Kofoed, sister Nancy (William) Cowley, sister Christine (Terry) Drube, brother Kenneth (Alona) Kofoed and step children Austin (Lauren) Anderson, Brianne (Jason) Phillips and Madison Myers. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Jan 31, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at the LDS Bridlewood Chapel, 165 W. Monarch Dr., Bountiful, Utah. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East Bountiful, Utah, and on Tuesday prior to services from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the church.
