Scott Edman Manz OGDEN – Scott Edman Manz, 48, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 after a long battle with Crohn’s disease. He was born September 10, 1962 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Oscar Ernest and Dorothy Edman Manz. Scott has lived in Ogden since 1987. He was a mechanical engineer at ATK/Thiokol and was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church. His daughter, Grace, was the most important person in his life. Scott was an amazing person and would do anything for anyone. He spent his life trying to make other’s lives better and he was a friend to everyone that he met. He loved to attend Utah Jazz games and listen to talk radio. We all have special memories of Scott and he will always be in our hearts. Scott is survived by his daughter, Grace Scothern, Ogden; his best friend, Marian Scothern, Ogden; parents, Oscar and Dorothy, Alvarado, MN; four brothers, Brad (Lorraine) Manz, Bismarck, ND; Jeff (Elena) Manz, E. Grand Forks, MN; Tim (Lisa) Manz, Blaine, MN; Matthew (Anne) Manz, Humboldt, IA; a sister, Rachel (Jim) Ferguson, Apple Valley, MN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mark David Manz. Memorial services will be held Friday, February 11th at 2 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1105 North Washington Blvd., with Pastor Matthew Muters, officiating. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Ascension Lutheran Church.
