Scott Roberts Steele
Never losing his sense of humor, Scott departed this life peacefully on May 10, 2015.
Scott was born August 21, 1931 in Delta, Utah to Elva Roberts and Arthur Steele. Senior Class President of Jordan High School class of 1948, Scott received his degree in Business and Finance from the University of Utah where he was an active member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Scott was enlisted in the Utah Air National Guard in 1951 and served at George AFB Victorville, California. He was a member of the 4 th Tow Target Squadron released from active duty in 1953.
Scott married LaRene Hayes July 8, 1959. He was a devoted husband, amazing father, proud grandfather, cherished brother and friend. He had a passion for gardening, was an avid golfer and duck hunter and he loved his many Labrador Retrievers.
He is survived by his two daughters Kellie McCullough and Kristen Tanner; grandsons Nathaniel Nelson (Amithrupa “Rupa” Sabbineni), MacKenzie McCullough, Zachariah Nelson and granddaughters Samantha Nelson, Tenley Tanner, and Kirbie McCullough as well as his sister Cheri (Michael Bridge). Preceded in death by his loving wife LaRene, son Kerby, his parents and his infant brother Douglas.
Graveside services for close family and friends will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W. under the directions of Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
We would like to give a special thanks to all the caretakers and staff at the Wentworth, Solstice and Sunrise of Sandy Assisted Living Center, we love and appreciate all that you’ve done. Scott is quite a character, you all stepped up to the challenge and we are proud to call you family.
