Scott Charles Tovey, 46, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones.

Scott was born on July 6, 1971 in Norman, Oklahoma to Kim and LaRene Tovey then came home to Utah. He graduated from Layton High in 1989 and shortly after married Shelly Sherman. They had two children, Taylor Conrad Tovey and Nicolette Tovey. They later divorced.

Scott then married Nicole Jones and had Braiden Tyler Tovey. In March 2007, Scott became a grandpa to Addisyn Hope Tovey. In the summer of 2008 he divorced and later in the year moved to Florida.

He finally met and married his forever love, Kristen Culhane, on July 2, 2011. Third time's a charm! He gained two sons, Sebastian Sky Bargas and Nikoli Araya Bargas. Scott brought Kristen back to Utah in 2014.

Scott had a strong mind which all his kids inherited. He loved them all very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He adored watching Addie play the piano. Scott also had a love of sports, mainly football and basketball. His favorite teams were the Broncos and the Jazz.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, parents, five kids, granddaughter, as well as his siblings, Shauna (Jared), Cristine (Mike), Michelle (Dave), David (Crista), Todd (Erica), and Jenifer (Rod); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Raymond Tovey, Wayne and Nadine Sanford; and his younger sister, Debra.

Special thanks to the ICU staff at McKay Dee Hospital, who not only took amazing care of Scott, but also Kristen, who never left his side.
