Scott Ellis VanDyke

Dr. Scott Ellis VanDyke of Ogden, UT, passed away on his family farm July 16, 2013. The farm belonged to his parents E.R. and Joyce VanDyke, who preceded him in death. He found his solace on "the farm".

He was born on August 17, 1947, and became a doctor of veterinary medicine. He owned ERZ Animal Hospital located in South Ogden, UT in partnership with his friend Dr. David Hyde. Scott worked at the animal hospital for 39 years. He had a deep love for working with animals and providing a service to his community.

Scott is survived by his wife and soul-mate, Geniel VanDyke; five beautiful children, Wendy Cook and her husband Bryan, Boe, Tyson, Ryan, and Jed and his wife Lisa and their mother Sharma; two stepchildren, Kendra Williams and her husband Joel and Chad Dilley; 16 grandchildren, and 2 great grandsons. All of his children love him dearly and enjoyed Scott''s active involvement in their lives. His love for them was evident. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, and taking trips with his loved ones. His family is his greatest joy.

Scott''s smile and sense of humor are his most cherished traits. His light always brightened the room and the lives of all those he knew. His generosity and thoughtfulness touched many. We know he is with our Father in Heaven and we will all be with him again. It is with this knowledge that we celebrate the wonderful life he lived.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Old Post Ward Chapel, 5191 Old Post Road, Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
