Seymour Miller

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Seymour LaMar Miller peacefully slipped into eternity Saturday, November 29, 2014. He was born December 23, 1921 in Syracuse, UT to Seymour Allen Miller and Clara Bell Barton. LaMar attended Davis High School.

On November 18, 1948 LaMar married LaDonna Parker in the Logan Temple.

LaMar worked as a fumigator at the Naval Supply Depot. He worked as a salesman at Standard Plumbing and Don’s Plumbing, then worked for the Davis School District as a custodian. LaMar and LaDonna lived on a farm in Syracuse where their three children were born. Later they moved to Roy where they lived for 40 years, then moved to Clinton for the next 13 years. They spent the last three years living at Apple Village Assisted Living where he passed away.

LaMar was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His service included various teaching and leadership positions, some of which were Teachers Quorum Advisor, counselor in the Elders Quorum Presidencies and a devoted home teacher.

His posterity includes three children, nine grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 66 years LaDonna and children: Peggy McPhie, Layton, UT; Pam (Ken) Cullens, Clearfield, UT; David (Melanie) Miller, Kaysville, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Darve Miller; two sisters Kathryn Byrd and Clara Byrd; and a great-granddaughter, Cloee Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Kaysville Tabernacle, 198 West Center Street. Family will meet with friends on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and on Friday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the Tabernacle.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.

The family expresses deep appreciation for the loving care rendered by the Apple Village Assisted Living and Inspiration Hospice and Homecare givers.
