Shane Lee Hawkins

July 2, 1973 ~ March 28, 2017

Shane Lee Hawkins, 43, of Roy, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. The cause of death was due to a motorcycle accident on Hill Field Air Force Base.

He was born on July 2, 1973 in NAS Lemoore, CA, to Danny Lee and Colleen Haymes Hawkins. Shane grew up in Washington Terrace and lived in Tremonton for 12 years before settling in Roy. Shane was a happy kid and enjoyed spending his time with his best friend Nathan Howard. He graduated from Bonneville High School in Ogden which just happen to be across the street from his childhood home.

He was married to Rebecca Hardy Palmer with that union was two beautiful kids. His son Kristofer and daughter Mikayla. When the children were 8 and 7 their parents ended the marriage.

Shane then married his Sweetthing LuAnna Russell on February16, 2002 in Ogden, Utah. They moved to Tremonton in 2004 and resided there till recently. They had just celebrated their 15th anniversary and the love between them was even stronger. They were truly best friends.

Shane made the courageous decision to join the Air Force after high school where he served honorably. He was stationed in Georgia and Alaska during those years. Both states had great meaning to him as his son was born in Georgia and daughter Alaska. His children truly meant the world to him. After moving back to Utah with the encouragement of his dad and friend Kevin Clark he joined the Navy Reserves. He joined the Navy Seabees Unit NMCB1417 and loved every minute of it. He was most proud of his time in the Seabees and he will forever be a Seabee.

He started working at Hill Air Force Base in 1998 with the 309 MMXG as a heavy mobile mechanic. He truly loved his job and those he worked with. He was honored to work beside a childhood neighbor, friend and mentor Denny Richardson. It was truly a rare occasion if he didn't want to go to work.

Shane was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a great love and belief in God. He served many years as a Scout leader and loved every moment. He was a kid at heart and loved to go on campouts---even in the winter.

Shane enjoyed cross-stitching, riding his motorcycle, bowling, watching sports just to name a few. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Whether it was working, having Saturday gameday, BBQ, or just hanging out he had a smile and a laugh that was like no other. Shane had a great love for his God, Country, and Family.
