Shanna Marie Bellon Moore "Loving Mother a" Nana"
In the last moments of her dear life, in the first crisp hours of Sunday, January 11, 2009, Shanna Marie Bellon Moore hugged and encouraged each of her six children and her husband, offering her last courageous act of kindness in this world as she passed into the next.
Shanna was born to Francis Xavier and Eva Mae Bellon in Roosevelt, Utah on November 30, 1932. She is survived by her husband, six children; Wendy (Ron) Rallis, Tammy (Kent) Cottle, Debbie (Brent) Gotberg, Kim (John) Van Weezep, Brad and Brett Moore; four brothers, three sisters, fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren whom she adored.
Shanna grew up on a farm and loved small town life, where everyone was acquainted and there was little tolerance for pretense. In her early twenties she moved to Salt Lake City. One day while singing in a church group, she turned to see where the most beautiful tenor voice in the world was coming from and saw the man who would become her eternal companion, Salt Lake City native Arnold T. Moore.
Shanna excelled in her education as she attended Utah State and BYU. She studied the arts, learning how to make her house a beautiful home. She never sought a career but was singled out and given responsible positions at the various jobs she held through the years. Shanna''s passions were baking, gardening, playing the piano and reading, but her number one passion was always children who flocked to her wherever she found herself.
Fundamental to Shanna''s life was her faith in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Among other callings she served as temple worker, young woman''s president and many times as primary and Sunday school teacher.
Even in the end as her body grew so weak she kept her tremendous faith and optimism and priceless sense of humor a" to our great benefit. Mom, Shanna, Sister Moore, Mrs. Moore, Nana a" we love you. Thank you. Family would like to thank Dr. Harker and his staff at Utah Cancer Specialist and Pinnacle Hospice for the loving care shown our mother.
