On Wednesday, 6 July 2022, Shannon Merie Fuller Butterfield, our dear wife, mother, sister, and friend to all, passed away at the age of 44 from medical complications.
Shannon was born on 31 August 1977 in Price, UT to Dennis and Zelda (Sorensen) Fuller. Despite a devastating car accident at age 16, she persevered and graduated from Woods Cross High School in 1996 with her class. Always a pushover for pets, adored dog Taisha had to make room for an online dating crush met on LDSMingle.com. Following a lengthy 3-month courtship, on 29 October 2005 she married "My Bear," Jared Kirk Butterfield, in Bountiful UT, and they were sealed a year later on 4 November 2006 in the Bountiful Utah Temple. Mother of son Enoch "Eno-cub" Butterfield and daughter Eden "Princess" Butterfield, she celebrated marriage for over 16 years, and mothering for 14 of them.
Shannon had a passion for life, smiling, and making others happy--"I luh-ya, luh-ya, luh-ya!" Despite every challenge presented by a life-threatening car accident in 1994, Shannon not only survived, but refused to accept any statistical probability, including learning how to walk, talk, finish school, and not only took care of herself and her family, but everybody she came in contact with. Any store she entered was filled with friends she simply hadn't met yet, and if they had pets or babies, all the better! A woman of faith, a spirited conductor, a choco-holic and Diet Dew diehard to the end, Shannon's giddy charm and abstract wit ("at least I'm fluent in Shanglish!") always left people laughing and feeling better about life.
Shannon was preceded in death by father Dennis, beloved mother Zelda, sister Kelly, and nephew Ben. She is survived by her husband Jared, children Enoch and Eden, siblings Denny, Diane, Shelly, Jani, Mel, Melissa, and Jared, their grateful spouses, indebted in-laws, Sheryl, Jeff, David, Darren, Jeremy, and Kim, and their families.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, 16 July 2022 at the Bountiful Utah Orchard Stake Center at 3599 Orchard Drive in Bountiful, UT at 10 am. Due to Shannon's heartfelt eagerness to bless others by donating her body to help others live and thrive, there will be no additional viewing or graveside services. In lieu of flowers, Shannon's family and loved ones gratefully welcome any other assistance at venmo acct https://account.venmo.com/u/JaredButterfield for medical expenses.
