Sharlynn (Sherry) Leslie Varney, 64, passed away on December 14, 2023, in her Farr West, Utah home. She was born on February 20, 1959, in San Francisco, California, to Alzora Jo Rodgers and Larry Leroy Petersen. She is survived by three sisters and three brothers, Christina Gant, Kirtus Rodgers, Kelli Johnson, Howard Petersen, Patrick Petersen and Jamie Petersen. She leaves behind four children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren: Son Jason Bagley (Heidi), their children Dusty and Jordan; daughter Karisa Wall (Brandon), their children Westen, Kayden, Olivia, and Porter; son Mike Bagley; and daughter Stacey Varney, her children Kenzlie, Haylie, and Talyn. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Larry Petersen, and husband, Larry Varney. She also leaves behind her best bud, Cooper (her dog).
Sherry was an RNA, Restorative Nursing Assistant, at George E. Wahlen Veteran’s home in Harrisville, Utah. She absolutely loved her career, her residents, their families, and her co-workers dearly. Sherry was passionate about many things. She loved playing slot machines, finding bargains at swap meets and yard sales, collecting antiques and Coca-Cola anything, driving to Idaho for lottery tickets, and going to breakfast.
Sherry was the most selfless person, always wanting to help those in need and putting others' needs before her own. She was a spunky little firecracker with a great sense of humor; she could lighten up a room, make anyone laugh, and went out of her way to do just that. She loved to see others happy and smiling even during the times she was struggling herself. Her lively, silly, and entertaining personality will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, our family is asking for donations to help cover the cost of services and cremation and to help her children with any unexpected expenses that may arise. We are accepting contributions by Venmo, @Stacey-Jean-2. We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the kind words and support they've shown us during this difficult time.
