Sharol Kaye Thorstensen Jackson Morris Bentley, age 80, passed away on May 9, 2019 from complications from a prior surgery. Sharol was born in Ogden, UT on October 15, 1938 to George and Onda (Langford) Thorstensen. She was the eldest of four children, and is survived by brother John (Marilyn) Thorstensen, her four children from first husband, Bruce A Jackson: Tamara Jackson, Jon Jackson, Eric Jackson (Shelly), and Janica Jackson (Robert) Rosenber, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, sister Sue Thorstensen Schreiner, and brother Greg Thorstensen.
Sharol graduated from Ogden High and later received her BS in Education from the University of Utah. She was active as a cheerleader in high school and Miss Ogden in college. After graduation, Sharol was an elementary school teacher in her early years. After raising her four children, she had a career as a social worker for Utah Child Protective Services. She was always an advocate for the less fortunate. She loved nature and animals, taking pictures on road trips, collectibles, and genealogy. She had many dear friends and loved to keep us laughing, exercising her love of creative writing through Facebook. She was an active member of the Salvation Army and the Desert Industries.
Memorial visitation will be held for her on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Boulevard.
