Sharon Ann Bird

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Sharon Ann Bird, 73, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017, in the early morning, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 10, 1944 in Springfield, Illinois, a daughter of Gene A. and Emma Bartlett Thornton. She grew up in Ogden and attended Ogden High School and Steven Heneger’s College.
On December 1, 1962, Sharon married Kay Vernon Bird in Ogden, Utah. He preceded her in death March 16, 2012, eight months shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. They built their home in Roy where they raised their sons. They also resided in Mesquite, Nevada for seven years. They moved back to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
She was employed by IRS and Hill AFB until her retirement.
Sharon was a member of the Baptist faith.
She enjoyed camping, boating and excelled at interior decorating. She was an exceptional home maker who loved making everything around her beautiful - her home, yard, and flowers. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her sons and grandchildren. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them.
Sharon is survived by her two sons, Zan Vernon Bird, Roy; Travis Paul (Shannon) Bird, West Point; three grandchildren, Taigan, Tyler and Presley; two brothers, C. Lee Blair, CA; Daniel N. Blair, St. George; and two sisters, Janice L. Perry, Riverdale; and Lora J. Williams, Roy. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, in-laws, one brother, Aaron E. Blair, one granddaughter, Kiara Emma Bird and one brother-in-law, Ron.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Roy City Cemetery, 2300 West 5200 South. The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
