Sharon Yvonne Ingles Hill

October 6, 1945 ~ March 22, 2015

Sharon Yvonne Ingles Hill, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, best aunt, and friend finished her fight peacefully at home with her family surrounding her on March 22, 2015. She had just celebrated her 40 th anniversary of her 29 th birthday.

Sharon was born on October 6, 1945 in Salinas, California.  On December 3, 1963, she married the love of her life, John A. Hill.  Sharon lived many places during her married life.  She continued to enjoy retirement traveling the Western United States with her two dogs and her pet husband, and they had almost visited all the National Parks in that area.

Sharon was a very creative person.  She could create something out of anything and was always involved in a project.  She built many pieces of wooden furniture for herself and several of her children still have things like toy boxes she built for them as children.  She was an avid player of Farmville, Candy Crush, and other social games.  She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, word and card games, as well as participating in bowling leagues for years.  She could read several books in a single day and traded them in by the boxful.  She made countless trips to Idaho for scratch tickets and always believed she was going to win.  Sharon also had an extensive collection of fantasy and mystical creatures including dragons and fairies.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and always kept them smiling with her keen sense of humor.  Sharon is survived by her husband, John A. Hill; four sons, Pinky – John Hill, Curt L. (Verlyn) Hill, Dale R. (Sonya) Hill, and Craig “Tod with one D” – as Sharon always specified – AKA Gus (Gina); 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Larry O. Ingles and Mark G. Ingles; and her sister, Eva Andrews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Dale and Juanita May Moore Ingles; one brother, Lex Ingles; and one granddaughter, Ember Hill.

Friends may visit with family on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Cremation to follow.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation, 360 West Schick Rd., Suite 23, #211, Bloomington, IL 60108 or at www.cncfhope.org .
