Sharon Adams Loomis

Our mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Sharon Adams Loomis passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2008.

Sharon was born to wonderful parents, I. W. "Dick" and Eva Riley Adams on October 18, 1928 in Bountiful, Utah. She attended Layton Elementary, North Davis Jr. High and graduated from Davis High School. She attended BYU and made many lasting friendships.

Sharon was employed at the Navy Base and Dick Adams Distributor as a secretary before she married Frank E. Loomis on August 20, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings; Relief Society teacher, councilor and Secretary in the Primary; Compassionate Service Leader and the Stake Special Needs Primary. Sharon served eighteen months in the Northern California Mission. At the time of her death she was visiting teacher.

Her hobbies were needlepoint, knitting, cooking and gardening. She graduated as a "Master Gardener." (Her expertise was rose bushes).

Sharon and Frank raised their three daughters on Owen Street, a neighborhood they loved. Mother lost her eternal companion three years ago and we''re sure she and dad are having a joyous reunion.

Mother is survived by her daughters; Charlotte Short, Greenbelt, MD; Stephanie and Wendy Loomis, Layton, UT; two granddaughters; Samantha (Tim) Maloney, New York, NY; and Eva Marie Short, two sisters, Sally (Cecil) Barton, Layton, UT; Suzanne (Larry) Ray, South Weber, UT; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 11a.m. at the Central Ward Meeting House, 60 West Gordon Ave. Layton, UT. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
