Sharon Howard Meacham quietly passed away the morning of December 29th, 2010 after a 3 month separation from his beloved wife of 67 years. Sharon was born November 8, 1920 in Duchesne, Duchesne County, Utah to Vennor Joselyn and Pearl Abbott Meacham.

Sharon married Lila Nielsen on April 20, 1943 in the Logan Temple. He served his country in the army during World War II, spending time in Texas and Montana. They lived in Vernal, Utah for 28 years, then moved to the Wasatch Front in 1974

Sharon was an active member of the LDS church serving in numerous bishoprics throughout his life along with many other positions. He enjoyed doing his family history and attending the temple.

Sharon was a skilled finish carpenter and spent many hours making cherished items for his grandchildren and was always willing to share his skills helping others. He always kept busy whether working building cupboards in their homes or keeping an immaculate yard. He was a master gardener and was always sharing the produce from his efforts.

Sharon and Lila served three missions together: Uintah Basin Indian Mission, Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission and one at the Church Offices.

Survived by his two children Gary (Judy) Meacham of Bountiful and Jeanette (Arvin) Billings of Nephi, UT; 11 Grandchildren and 18 Great-grandchildren and numerous foster children; his brother Vennor J. Meacham, Fruit Heights, UT and Sister, Bernice Anderson of Santa Cruz, CA. Preceded in death by his wife, Lila N. Meacham.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3rd, 2011 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where a visitation will be held Sunday from 7-8 p.m. and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment at Valley View Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
