Sharon Gay Newton Sink

Sharon Gay Newton Sink, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2014.  She was born on June 29, 1945 to Lawrence Wayne Newton and Cepha Nadine Shrum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  She was raised in Capulin, New Mexico and graduated from high school in Des Moines, NM.  She moved to Oklahoma in 1979 where she raised both sons there.  She then moved to Layton, UT for her remaining years.

She married William Bryan Sink on January 29, 1966 in Springer, NM.  They later divorced.

Sharon was raised in the Baptist church, but later became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree and became a Registered Nurse.

Sharon is survived by her by her divorced husband, William Bryan Sink, Grenville, NM; sons, Douglas (Vickie) Sink, Liberty and Bryan Shane Sink, Roy; daughters-in-law, Vickey, Debbie, Alice; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and brother, Tommy Wayne Newton, Gotebo, OK.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Cepha and Lawrence Newton; and grandmother and grandfather, John and Sadie Shrum.

Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
