Sharon (Davis) Lucille Wahlen

September 26, 1932 ~ February 18, 2018

On Sunday, February 18, 2018, our sweet mother, wife, grandma, and great-grandma went home peacefully, reuniting with her loving husband of 64 years, and their great granddaughter, Cheyenne.

Sharon Lucille (Davis) Wahlen, 85 years old, was born on September 26, 1932, to William and Cora (Harding) Davis, in Ogden Utah. She grew up, attended Ogden High School, and then met and married her eternal sweetheart on June 19, 1950, at the Bertha Eccles Center in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland LDS Temple.

Sharon was a dedicated and unconditionally supportive wife. When Dale was transferred to San Francisco in 1960, they moved their family from Ogden to Novato, California.  They later moved to San Jose, and then to area, where they built a home, and joyfully lived out their united lives. Each day, for a month following Dale's retirement, Sharon would take him on a surprise 'field trip", to help ease him out of his work life routine. She was at his side through many life threatening health issues which enhanced her bravery and courage in the present moment.

She taught her daughters how to build tents with sheets, blankets, clothespins, and dining room furniture, where they would 'camp out' in their creations for nights at a time. She taught all the grandchildren to put olives on each finger and eat them.

Sharon was an amazing woman and grandmother who quilted, crocheted, tied and sewed hundreds of blankets, quilts and dolls throughout her life, to sell in boutiques and give as gifts, in between the numerous hours of service she provided to so many others. She and Dale loved Disneyland and would go there with kids and grandkids every week for 23 years. Family was very important to her and Dale, and since moving to CA in 1960, they drove "home" to Utah every summer to spend several weeks with family there.

Sharon was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in presidency roles of the church's women's organization for 55 years. She compassionately shared her knowledge and passion to all women who needed her. She volunteered in the Gift Shop at Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, California for more than 20 years, joyfully giving over 34,000 hours of her time. She also was a member of St. Jude Guild and a volunteer at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Ms Theater Center.

Throughout life, Dale waited for Sharon a lot, while she 'just has a few more things to take care of," with her myriad of responsibilities. For the past few years, he's been patiently waiting for her to take care of all those "things". The wait is over and they/re both home together.

Sharon is survived by her four loving daughters, Debra (Craig) Droswell from Chino Hills, CA; Janna Wahlen from Brigham City, UT; Melinda (Gary) Kockler from Pleasant View, UT; Lisa (Kevin) Sorensen of Mantua, UT; and Mark (Sharla) Glassman of Collewille, TX: 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents; brother, Michael Davis; nephew, Robert Bradbury; and great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Skydar Broswell.
