SHARON PEARL HORTON MOSES
1936-2020
Sharon Pearl Horton Moses, 84, passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 16, 2020, in Bountiful, Utah.
Sharon was born in Salt Lake City to James Arthur Horton and Pearl Winnifred Peck on November 21, 1936. She married Elmer DeVon Moses on July 16, 1954 in Salt Lake City. They were later sealed as a family in the Salt Lake Temple.
Sharon worked in the home building business for several years and then worked at Memorial Lakeview Mortuary and Cemetery. She ended her career working in the Real Estate busiess with Coldwell Banker. Her clients were so appreciative of her help.
Sharon was a wonderful cook. She was known for her 12 hour butterhorn rolls and her delicious orange rolls. Her caramel popcorn at Christmas time was one of her neighbors, family and friends favorites.
Sharon loved to do her Family Genealogy. Even when her eyesight began to fail she had wonderful ward friends that would help her continue to do that work.
Sharon loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren so much. She looked forward to every birthday party and holiday that she got to spend time with them.
Sharon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many capacities and especially loved serving in the Primary. She was so grateful for the many friendships she made faithfully doing her Visiting Teaching every month.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Pearl Horton; a sister Connie Eward and her brothers Jerry Horton, Dwaine Horton and Dennis Horton. She also was preceded in death by her twin infant sons, Michael DeVon and Melvin Leon.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 66 years, Devon; daughters, Melony Hansen (Dave) Karen Harrison, Wendy Neary (Mike) and son Wes; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with one more due this month. She also has one surviving brother Dale Horton (Pat) who lives in Boise, Idaho.
There will be a private family viewing and private Graveside Service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Humanitarian Aid Fund or Missionary Fund.
The family of Sharon wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Sam Wilson, her nurse Angie and all those with the Utah Home Health and Hospice that so sweetly cared for our mom during her final days.
