WOODS CROSS - Shawn Christopher Copeland was born February 15, 1969 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Lee Copeland and Suzanne Rhees Copeland. He was taken from us on Sunday, April 26, 2009.

Shawn grew up in Farmington and loved to hike in the mountains He loved driving his ''69 Mustang, but gladly sold it to pay for his mission to Bogota, Colombia, a country he truly loved. Shawn made a career as a glazer, and was truly an artist in glass. His smile was bright and his sense of humor was infectious. Whether you were family, a friend, or a stranger, Shawn was always there to lend a hand.

On September 30, 1993 he married Martha Elisa Valencia, daughter of Flavio Valencia and Danila Garcia. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They have three beautiful children, Andrew Christopher, Cassandra Marie, and Brandon Daniel Copeland. Shawn always took the time to make sure that his children knew how much he loved them. Reading stories, playing at the park, and camping were their favorite activities. Shawn touched many hearts and was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his father, mother, grandfather, Donald W. Rhees, and his wife and children. In addition, Shawn has three brothers, David Patrick Copeland, Thomas Lee Copeland, and Rajan Alak Copeland, and four sisters, Cathleen Elwood, Melissa Ann Green, Carrie Lynn Wilson, and Sundari Copeland. He also had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. We know that we will be with Shawn again and will spend eternity together.

Shawn was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Matthew Copeland; his grandmother, Juanita Judkins Rhees; his grandfather, Otis Lee Copeland, Jr.; and his grandmother, Bonnie Maxine Chapman Copeland.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden, Utah.
