Sheila Davis Cook

Sheila Davis Cook passed away peacefully after a brief illness on the morning of Sunday, February 5th 2023, at her home with her husband by her side.  Sheila was 78 years old.

Sheila was born May 7th, 1944 in Ogden Utah to Melvin and Dorothy Williams Davis.  She grew up in Layton and Syracuse along with her 8 siblings.  Sheila was a graduate of Davis High School.

Sheila met Gary S. Cook and the fell in love.  They married in Syracuse on Dec, 6th, 1963. Together they had two children.

Sheila worked at J & J Nursery for many years and made many good friends.

Sheila enjoyed spending time at the cabin that she and Gary built together.  She also loved to bowl and joined a bowling league.  She liked to garden and always had a beautiful yard.  She also liked playing cards and bingo with sister and nieces.  Sheila loved watching the Utah Jazz and especially enjoyed going to Wendover.  Most of all she loved playing with her grandkids.

She loved her family and friends and would do just about anything for them.  She was very much loved in return.  She will be sorely missed.

Sheila is survived by her husband Gary, children Brad Cook and Terri Cook, grandchildren Brandi Panzer and Nicholas Cook, her siblings Brent (Judy) Davis, Nancy (Gary) Draper, Valerie Davis, Blair (Shelly) Davis, Maureen (Lynn) Gardner and Reed (Kerrie) Davis.  She is also survived by great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, sister Diane Bennett, brother Garth Davis and granddaughter Lacey Lawrence.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.

 A private interment will be held at a later date.
