Sheila Porter Sagers

September 22, 1964 ~ August 27, 2015

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Sheila, returned to her Heavenly Father on August 27, 2015 after her earthly trials were through.

Sheila was born in Preston, Idaho on September 22, 1964 to Floyd and Ramona Porter, and was raised in Lewiston, Utah as the youngest of five siblings. Sheila attended Sky View High School, and in her time there, played the clarinet and participated in the marching band, which she loved. She then began working at Cache Valley Dairy, and continued to work there until she moved to Ogden, which would become her home.

There, she attended Weber State University, where she soon discovered her skills in typing. This led to her career as a Certified Medical Transcriptionist at McKay Dee Hospital, where one day, she would become top in her field. This career choice caused her to become the family medical advisor, a role which she played many times.

She met her best friend, and future husband, Jeff, in March of 1985. After spending every waking moment together, they decided that they should be married, and were sealed in the Logan LDS temple on June 26, 1987.

Despite much success in her career, her true calling in life came when she and Jeff were blessed with their two beautiful daughters, Ashley and Holly, who were the light of her life.

Her interests included cooking, reading, needle crafts, the Utah Jazz, mystery TV shows, and her beloved cats.

Sheila is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jeffry; daughters, Ashley and Holly; siblings, Rochelle Owen, Sondra (Bill) Spicker, Kelly (Sharon) Porter; parents’ in-law, John and Brenda Sagers; and 27 nieces and nephews.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ramona Porter; sister, Drenda; grandparents; and her 5 “fur babies.”

Sheila fought a valiant seven year battle with aggressive Multiple Sclerosis, but is now free from the physical limitations of her body, and the family would like to thank the numerous caregivers throughout the years for lovingly and tenderly caring for her in her last years.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will be held at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
