Shelby Lynn Greener
December 26, 1972 ~ July 5, 2015
It is impossible to sum up the short life of Shelby. She was a kind and gentle soul who was always serving others. She worked hard but enjoyed life to the fullest. She never knew a stranger as she greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word. She was very talented as an athlete as well as a decorator, making the world a little more beautiful. Shelby will always be remembered for her beautiful flowers, quick wit and great sense of humor. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her two children as well as reaching out to other children with love and compassion.
She was born December 26, 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah and passed away on July 5, 2015 in an auto mobile accident. She grew up in Burley, Idaho where she played many sports as well as being a cheerleader for Burley schools. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State College.
Shelby was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various callings and will be remembered for her unwavering faith. She was currently serving as a counselor in the Primary. She worked at Design-Tek and the Standard Examiner.
Shelby is survived by her children, Aubrey and Kaden, her mother, Ann Freeman, father Dennis Greener, four sisters, Tiffany, Stacy, Brandy, Jill, half-brother, Brian, and half-sister, Janica. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Gary Freeman, and grandmother Ruth Catmull.
The family would like to thank all of her good friends, her ward family, employers, her special friend, Michael Winsett, and all that reached out to them during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Fremont Ward Chapel, 4979 South 5100 West, Hooper. The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
An account has been set up by Shelby’s employer, Design-Tek, at Wells Fargo Bank and there donations can be made to the Kaden Smith and Aubrey Cox College Fund.
