Sheldon Lloyd Fisher
SYRACUSE a" Sheldon Lloyd Fisher, 76, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010.
He was born September 24, 1933 in Ogden, Utah the son of Harold Major and Bertha Irene Garner Fisher.
Sheldon graduated from Davis High School in 1951 and was drafted in the U.S. Army serving two years and three years in the National Guard. After serving in the military he worked at Hill Air Force Base and retired after 40 years of service. He was a volunteer fireman for 20 years for the Syracuse Fire Department.
Sheldon married Barbara Jenniel Sandoval on December 16, 1960 in Kaysville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on July 18, 1975. They recently celebrated their 49 year wedding anniversary.
He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various callings, Home Teacher, librarian, Scoutmaster, Explorer Leader, Webelo Leader and was a Temple Worker.
Sheldon loved fishing, camping, boating, hunting, golfing and gardening. He loved his family, children and grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.
Surviving are his wife Barbara of 49 years, children: Julie Fisher Ickes, Laurence J. (Sharee R.) Fisher, Steven B. Fisher, Bradley R. (Corinne H.) Fisher, Douglas E. (Bjsonet B.) Fisher, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Shawn S. Fisher.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Huckleberry Ward, 1313 So. 2500 W., Syracuse. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
