Shelley Mae Gailey

OGDEN a€" Shelley Mae Tippets Gailey returned home on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 following a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Shelley was born in Ogden on June 17, 1952 to Lewis Tippets and Sharon Poppleton and immediately touched the lives of all those who met her. With her infectious smile and amazing attitude she was an inspiration and incredible example of faith and patience. Shelley attended Bonneville High School where she was the majorette, and Weber State University.

She married Dale Gailey in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they had four children that were the highlight of her life. They later divorced.

Shelley was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life.

Her greatest love was dancing and she truly enjoyed being a dance teacher. She also worked at I.R.S. and Hill Air Force Base.

Shelley made sure that everyone always "had a great day" at Crestwood Care Center, her home for the past five years.

The family cannot express all the thanks due the staff and families of Crestwood Care. She loved you all. Thanks also to Legacy Hospice for their care and compassion.

Shelley is survived by her children, Candi (John) Larson, Tiffany (Mark) Shisler, Trevor (Cyndi) Gailey, Brittanie (Mike) Knezovich, her seven amazing grandchildren that she adored most of all: Samantha, Hunter, Brigitte, Madysen, Aidan, Harrison and Zoe; her parents, Sharon and Lothar Hildebrandt, and her two aunts that will always be her sisters, Suzanne (Dean) VanDenakker and Dixie Todd.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 10 to 10:45 a.m.
