Shelley Jean Heer Moser

Shelley Jean Heer Moser, born on November 15, 1951, in Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024. She was a cherished member of her community, known for her kindness and welcoming spirit. Shelley dedicated much of her life to education and the arts, spanning a remarkable 22 years as a teacher, primarily at Rock Mountain Junior High School. In addition to her teaching career, she shared her musical talent by offering piano lessons for 33 years and served as the ward organist for 28 years. Her contributions extended beyond the classroom; she embraced multiple church callings, demonstrating her deep commitment to her faith.

Shelley was a proud alumna of Ricks College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS). Her love for cooking was well known, and she often brought joy to those around her through her culinary skills. She took pride in her work as a typist and seamstress, further showcasing her diverse talents.

Shelley loved the ongoing relationships she had with her students. She loved playing with her grandkids, teaching them songs and telling stories. 

Family was at the heart of Shelley’s life. She leaves behind her beloved children: Scott (Rachel) Moser of Missouri, Robert (Rebecca) Moser of West Haven, Brent (Gina) Moser of West Point, Julie (Christopher) Lee of Ogden, and Diana (Colton) Harris of West Point. Her brother’s and sister’s: Garth Heer of Alabama, Doug Heer, of Eagle Mountain, John Heer, of Idaho Falls. Crystal Heer, of Provo, Vicki Schneider, of Kentucky, Patrice Mogensen, of Denmark, and their spouses. Additionally, she is survived by her mother, Valene Heer of Rexburg, Idaho, and her 25 cherished grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

Shelley is preceded in death by her father, Leo Heer, and her daughter, Angela Burton. Her legacy of kindness, love, and dedication to her family and community will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary. 3333 West 5600 South, Roy. Friends may visit with family on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to service at the mortuary. 

Shelley Jean Heer Moser will be greatly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.

Special thanks to her good friends: Myler’s, Barney’s, Thurgood’s, Jensen’s, and Gardner’s. Thank you to all the others that were there for her during her times of need.
