Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Shellie Herzog Larios, peacefully left this world on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous two year battle with leukemia.
She was born February 12, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah to J. Raymond and Willora Herzog. She grew up in Magna and graduated from Cyprus High School.
Shellie served in the United States Air Force for eight years. While there she met CMSGT Larry Larios and on June 28, 1980 they were married at Malmstrom AFB, Montana.
She graduated from Weber State University in Early Child Development. She owned and operated Edu-Care, an early learning center for children in Layton. Shellie believed that "no sound was sweeter than the laughter of children and the patter of their little feet". She also started an early childhood educational organization which provides classes for the community. One of Shellie''s greatest loves is Yellowstone National Park where she leaves her legacy for further generations by writing the book "Yellowstone Ghost Stories", which was published in 2006. Her book is one of the best selling books in Yellowstone''s history.
Shellie is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in the Primary, Young Women organizations and wrote and directed "Road Shows". She loved her family more than anything. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Shellie is the forever partner and best friend to husband, Larry, the most awesome mom to Marc and Letitia and mother-in-law to Matthew Arhensback, and fun grandmother to Marc Ray and Shellie Anna. She is also survived by her mother, brother Max, sisters Carol Clift and Becky Ford, and 13 "favorite" nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
