Sheree Ann Evans

February 5, 1957 — May 22, 2024

Sheree Ann Evans, 67, of Huntsville, Utah, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, May 22, 2024.  Sheree was born to Robert and Margaret (Peggy) Eckstein on February 5, 1957.  She was a kind loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She lived a life of faith, adventure, community service, and love. Sheree was ingrained in the Ogden Valley community and was proud to call Huntsville and Eden home for more than 20 years. She worked for most of her professional career as an Account Manager at Wonder Bread Hostess Cake. Beyond her profession, she was a selfless and active member in the Middlefork LDS Ward. In her most recent years, she has loved working for Hunstville as the Town Treasurer and has been volunteering at the Family History Center weekly.

Sheree’s philanthropic world view and devout faith called her to Haiti several times for humanitarian aid missions. Sheree’s time in Haiti inspired her and her husband Eric Evans to adopt two Haitian children, JT and Delanie. Sheree’s resolve on the topic is unwavering over the years, as her and Eric have recently sponsored a Haitian political refugee, Kendersley, to come and live with them.

Sheree also lived a life of adventure, as she loved to travel, drive 4-wheelers, hike, and walk her dogs down to the lake. She loved spending time with her family, whether it be Sunday dinners, game nights, or a spontaneous trip to St. George.

Sheree is survived by her husband, Eric Evans; her six children, Mike Macfarlane, Lisa (Paul) Tubbs, Madison (Stephen) Bass, JT Evans, Delanie Evans, and step-son Scott (Kourtney) Evans; her three grandchildren, Bella, BreeAnn, and Braden, and her recently welcomed great-grandchild, Raiya; her brother, Kent (Karen) Eckstein; and her sisters, Michelle Gordon and Julie Bybee; she is preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank the staff at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City for their kind and respectful care of our mother over the past seven months as Sheree battled Leukemia.

A family graveside service will be held at the Huntsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the humanitarian organization where she served on the board of directors, Haiti Health Initiative at haitihealthinitiative.org
