SHERENE ENGLISH
Sherene returned to her Heavenly Father on March 11, 2010. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Sherene was born April 5, 1961 to devoted parents, Thomas and Carene English. Her parents cherished everyday and did all in their power to assure that she had every opportunity to flourish. Sherene in turn was a positive influence on everyone she met. She was known as a social butterfly. Her nickname became “Beamo” or “Beams” because of her prominent smile, which she freely gave to all.
Sherene’s life has been filled with many activities. She enjoyed bowling, gymnastics, coaching soccer, dancing, workshop, and friends. She competed in the Special Olympics, performed dancing routines at Jordan Valley School, and was always “working hard to earn a paycheck” at South Valley Training Company. Sherene was a member of the LDS church. At her insistence she was baptized July 21, 1991. She attended seminary, special needs mutual and expressed her testimony through example each day.
After the death of her parents she was lovingly championed by her guardians Daniel and Vina English. Thanks also to other family caretakers, especially Betty and David English. Sherene’s ability to endure to the end is an example to us all. She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Daniel (Vina) English, Carolyn English Brooks, Charles (Joanne) English, Paula English Hill, David (Betty) English, Laurie (Patrick) Lemmon, Bill (Claire) English, and Matthew (Muriel) English. Preceded in death by her parents and sister Shirlene.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Tuesday, March16, at the LDS Draper 12th Ward, 600 East 12300 South, where friends and family may call from 9:45-10:45 am. prior to services. Interment at Sandy City Cemetery under the direction of Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
