Sheryl Smedley Allred Sheryl Smedley Allred, 69, departed this life Monday, December 31, 2007, from the effects of a stroke. She was born May 1, 1938 in Clearfield, Utah to Bernard and Ella May Smedley. She was the youngest of nine children. She spent her childhood in the Syracuse/Clearfield area. She was a graduate of Davis High School and Weber State College. She married Carl B. Gibbons on June 30, 1960. They moved to Rochester, New York and later divorced. She married Robert Graham Allred October 29, 1982 in the Jordan River Temple. They settled in Clearfield, Utah. Sheryl treasured her family and her faith. Sheryl was a member of the Clearfield Seventh Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served her church and her community in many ways. She served as a PTA president, CERT volunteer, school teacher, primary teacher, scout leader, primary president, cannery missionary with her husband (1998-2000), and was a stake Relief Society president at the time of her death. Sheryl is survived by her husband Robert, her sons Douglas (DeAnn) Gibbons of West Haven; Kent (Heidi) Gibbons of Trabuco Canyon, CA; Glen Gibbons of Layton; David (Christy) Gibbons of Clinton; Michael (Robin) Allred of Saratoga Springs; and Shane Allred of Clearfield; and her daughter Deborah (John) Walker of Pasadena, Maryland; 32 grandchildren, eight step-children, 14 step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a stillborn sister, her brother Garment and sister Shirlene who died as a child, her brother George and sister Lavell. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Clearfield 7th Ward, 231 E. 300 No. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
