Sheryl Loy Jensen Larson

Sheryl Loy Jensen Larson, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born on May 1, 1942, in Moroni, Utah, to parents Boyce and Maxine Oldroyd Jensen.

She married John Larson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together they had three children; son, Todd; and daughters, Tami and Danna. They raised their three children in Bountiful, Utah. They later divorced.

Sheryl worked most of her years in the banking industry; the majority at Tracy Collins Bank in Bountiful, Utah. She later moved to St. George, Utah, and there continued her banking career. She loved being in the warm weather of St. George and built a home there where she lived for 26 years until she passed away.

She loved collecting Beanie Babies and owls, gardening, and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Her handmade dishcloths and scrubbers were loved by everyone. Beanie Babies were a big hit with her great-grandchildren; to some, she was known as the “Beanie Baby Grandma.” Sheryl’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren, playing in the sand box, visiting the park, or climbing on the Dixie red rocks.

Sheryl is survived by her daughters, Tami (Rick) Mathews and Danna (Brett) Gray; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dan (Kathy) Jensen,.

She was preceded in death by her son, Todd Larson; her parents, Boyce and Maxine Jensen; her sister, Karyn Haeckel; and brother-in-law, Ray Haeckel.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
