Sheryl Ann Sodorff, 73, of Lafayette, Oregon passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 27, 2024, in Clinton.
Sheryl was born on August 17, 1951, in Pullman, Washington, the daughter of Duane Melvin and Mary Lou Sutherland Sorenson.
After graduating from high school, Sheryl attended college at Washington State University.
She married the love of her life, and junior high sweetheart, Jerry Donald Sodorff, in Pullman on June 25, 1970. They raised three children together, a son, Joel, and twin daughters, Stephanie and Stacy.
In addition to Pullman, where Sheryl spent 30 years of her life, she also lived in Omaha, Nebraska, Pleasanton, California, Bend, Oregon, Liberty Lake, Washington, Dallas, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Lafayette, Oregon.
A person of strong Christian faith, Sheryl’s devotion to God was paired with a tremendous love for the beach and for working with her hands. She enjoyed making arts and crafts and spending time whale watching, but most of all, she devoted herself to her family and those she lovingly cared for professionally.
Sheryl retired as a marketing director in the hospice care industry and was a Suicide Certified counselor. She will be dearly missed by her family and by friends scattered all across the country.
Sheryl is survived by her children, Joel (Lori) Sodorff, Prineville, OR; Stephanie (Travis) Norman, Clinton, UT; Stacy (Alex) Rountree, Syracuse, UT; ten grandchildren; and by one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters, Char (Kent) Hein, Spokane, WA; and Kathy (Bryson) Bailey, Vancouver, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry, and by her brother, Steve Sorenson.
A Funeral Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, 869 S 2000 W, Syracuse, UT. Friends may visit with family from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the mortuary. Cremation is in care of Lindquist Mortuaries and Cemeteries.
