Shigeru Kiyomura

SYRACUSE - Shigeru Kiyomura passed away on DEC 05 2014 at the age of 96.  He was born in Fresno CA on MAY 05 1918 to Suyeki and Majiu Shiotsu Kiyomura.  He was a member of the 442 ^nd Infantry and served in Europe during World War II.  After discharge, he married Yoneko Imaizumi in 1946.  They resided in Southern California and had one son, Robert.  They moved to Utah in 2006 to be near their son while Shig underwent chemotherapy for Lymphoma at The Huntsman Cancer Institute and achieved long term remission.  They moved to Syracuse in 2009 and tolerated the snow but looked forward to their regular trips to Las Vegas, buffets and slot machines.

Shig is survived by his wife of Syracuse and son of Layton.  He has nieces and nephews in Utah, Texas and California.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.

Family services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 11 AM at Lindquist’s Layton  Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. where friends may visit with family from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.  The 49 ^th day service will be held in Las Vegas in JAN 2015.

The family wishes to express appreciation to Davis Hospital and Medical Center and administration for their accommodation during his final days.  Special thanks to the Physicians, Wound Care Clinic, Cath Lab and ICU Staff for their outstanding and compassionate care.
