Shirlee Poulter Shidler

December 15, 1934 ~ July 3, 2022

Shirlee Poulter Shidler passed away at home surrounded by her three children, Ken, Lisa and Brent on July 3, 2022. Shirlee was born December 15, 1934 in Wendell, Idaho. She grew up in Buhl, Idaho.

While living in Salt Lake City she met Jim Shidler and they were married October 14, 1955 in Buhl, Idaho.

Shirlee worked at JC Penneys in Salt Lake and later in Logan, Utah. She also worked in the business office of the LDS Hospital in Logan. While living in Logan, her first born son, Timothy was born and died shortly after his birth in 1960. She had two more children, Ken and Lisa. They moved to North Ogden in 1969. There her youngest son, Brent was born.

Shirlee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in the church in music, scouting and teaching children.

She loved decorating her home and yard and being outside in her swimming pool. Shirlee prematurely lost her hearing in her 50s. This was very difficult for her as she wanted to know what was going on with the family. The family became creative in communicating – even learning some sign language.

Though it is very difficult to say goodbye to our mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. We know she is reunited with her husband, Jim; son, Timothy; her parents; sister and many dear aunts and uncles.

And she can now hear!

Shirlee is survived by three of her children, Ken (Barbara) Shidler, Lisa Shidler, and Brent (Kim) Shidler, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A small family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary
