Shirley Ann Baltazar

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Shirley Ann Baltazar, 78, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. She was born to Gerald and Grace Hawks Hess on May 10, 1934 in Plymouth, Utah.

Shirley grew up in Plymouth and Portage, Utah and was raised by her mother and stepfather James Ogan. She moved to Washington for 2 years and returned and graduated from Bear River High School.

She married the love of her life Dolfo Duran Baltazar on March 14, 1953 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple in April of 1977. They celebrated 59 wonderful years together this year.

Shirley put her family first. She loved each family member for who they were. Shirley gave of herself freely. Others needs were always put before her own.

She was a great cook which drew the whole family to her house to enjoy her Mexican food and anything else she whipped up for us.

Shirley and Dolfo enjoyed watching Jazz games and attending the Ogden Raptors games.

She was an active member of the LDS Church serving in various positions throughout her life.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Dolfo; children, Paul and Joy Baltazar, South Jordan, Jeff and Norma Jean Baltazar, Mountain Green and Cheryl and Raul Romero, North Ogden; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and brother, James Brent Ogan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Gloria Wakefield Stone.

As a family we want to express our deepest love and appreciation for our dad, Dolfo, for his love and care for our mom.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Lewis 7th Ward, 1150 North Monroe Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
