Shirley Kimber Carter Clark

October 10, 1935 - September 13, 2014

Shirley Clark, 78, passed away peacefully at her home from complications of Parkinson's Disease on September 13, 2014. Shirley was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was born in Ogden, Utah to Evan and Agnes Kimber on October 10, 1935. She graduated from Ogden High School and lived her life in Uintah, Utah.

In June of 1953, Shirley married Ervin Lloyd Carter.  They had three children, Kim, Nance, and Christopher. Together they loved and enjoyed their little family. Ervin passed away at the age of 42. Shirley then devoted the next several years to her children.

Shirley married Ron Clark in January of 1982.  They loved to go on road trips together. Ron was a very loving companion and caregiver to Shirley.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shirley held various positions in the Primary and Relief Society.  Shirley was a skilled quilter and creative needle pointer. She enjoyed gardening and always had a beautiful yard and home.

Shirley is survived by her husband Ron, children Kim (Kristine) of Santa Clara, Utah and Nance Guzman of Mesquite, Nevada, step-children Ron, Vickie, and Carrie, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, and son Christopher, granddaughter Chelsea Chavez, and great-grandson Talon Nanney.

The family would like to thank all the nurses from Abundant Life Home Health & Hospice who lovingly and kindly care for Shirley and the constant watch from Cathy Carter Harmston whom Shirley loved and appreciated dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Pioneer Chapel, 6660 South 1775 East, Uintah.  Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
