Shirley Jean Ricks Hamblin
KAYSVILLE - Shirley Jean Ricks Hamblin, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 3, 2012. She is now reunited with her Father in Heaven, parents, and future grandchildren.
Jean was born October 19, 1950, to Thomas Arnold Ricks and Shirley Amelia Smith. Born a twin, the oldest of six children, she learned how to work hard at a young age. She became industrious out of necessity. She was an excellent seamstress and cook, skills that became essential in later years when raising her family.
Jean met her eternal companion, Merlin Dee Hamblin, and was sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 1, 1973. Seven wonderful children and 22 grandkids were born as a result of their union.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she held many callings, her favorite being Primary President. Her life revolved around her family. She was a wonderful mother, coach and friend. She loved coaching and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Everyone was always welcome at Merlin and Jean''s for a home cooked meal.
Mom always said "Remember who you are". We''ll move forward with our heads held high.
