Shirley P. Haws

Dearly loved wife, mother, and grandmother Shirley P. Haws passed away surrounded by her family on the evening of February 4th, 2025 in North Ogden, Utah.

 Shirley was born on July 29th, 1935 in Stoddard, Utah. She was born to Lloyd and Lareen Preece. She attended and graduated from Morgan High School. Mom was the 3rd of 5 children. After she finished high school, Shirley began work as a secretary at Thiokol. It was while working there that she met the love of her life, Max Haws. Mom and Dad were married on September 17, 1960 and were sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden Temple. After Thiokol, she worked for Satin Salt followed by Amalgamated Sugar, she always used to say she “went from salt to sugar.” They have three wonderful children, a son, Kim, and two daughters, Jodie and Corrie. Shirley and Max lived in North Ogden while raising their children and in later years moved to Stoddard, Utah and Kaysville, Utah. Mom was a faithful Latter-Day Saint whose strong testimony influenced all those around her. She served faithfully in many callings and always enjoyed serving others when the opportunity arose. She was a faithful temple worker for many years. Mom and Dad faithfully served two missions together in Tallahassee, Florida and Independence, Missouri.

 Mom was always known for being kind to those around her and people always seemed to be drawn close to her. Her family was the most important thing to her and she enjoyed spending time with them camping, shopping (she was very fashionable), watching ball games, attending recitals, and any other occasion she could be with them. She played a mean game of cards and was always up for a challenge.

 Shirley is survived by her three children, Kim (Natalie) Haws, Jodie (Scott) Jensen, Corrie (Rob) Done, 11 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max, parents, Lloyd and Lareen, two brothers and two sisters, Gertrude, Edward, June, and Max.

 The family would like to thank The Lodge, A+ Hospice, and all those who cared for Mom, a special thank you to McKenna, Mandy, and Mapu.

 Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Friday, the 7th of February, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville Rock Chapel (25 S. 200 E., Kaysville, Utah). A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services. The burial will take place at the North Morgan Cemetery.
