LAYTON a€" Shirley Ricketts Howard, 67, passed away peacefully at home in Layton on Monday, April 18, 2011.

She was born June 11, 1943 in Ogden, a daughter of John C. and Ora Zufelt Ricketts.

Shirley married Olin W. Howard on July 22, 1961 in Washington Terrace, Utah.

She lived most of her life in Ogden and Layton.

Shirley loved the Lord and was a member of the North Park Foursquare Church in Roy.

She worked in the housekeeping department at Ogden Regional Medical Center.

Shirley was caring and full of love and kindness. She loved camping and spending time with family. Western movies were Mom''s favorite and she love to watch them with her dogs. No words can tell the love Shirley had for her grandkids.

The family expresses their appreciation and love to Martin for his tender care. Also a special thanks to Aunt Beverly and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their gentle care of Mom.

Surviving are her husband Olin of Layton; three sons and one daughter, Martin Howard, Layton; Carl Howard, Grand Junction, CO; Michael Howard, Arizona; Coleen (Lonnie) Gale, Harrisville; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Shirley in death were her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Pastor Jackie Ostler officiating.

Family will meet with friends at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
