Shirley Anderson Jones

Shirley Louise Anderson Jones, 85, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010, with her family by her side.

She was born December 2, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Nels and Alice Brain Anderson. She was raised in Bothwell, Utah and graduated from Bear River High School.

On September 22, 1949, Shirley married David R. Jones in Ogden. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1998.

She worked at DDO as a personnel clerk and retired after 30 years of service.

Shirley was a member of the LDS Church where she served for many years in the name extraction program. She had a strong testimony that led her to receive her temple endowments.

She enjoyed entertaining, cooking, going to church and loved being with her family.

Shirley is survived by one son, David M. (Vicki) Jones, Mt. Green; three daughters, Kathleen Thorstensen, North Ogden; Debra J. (Craig) Sorensen, Syracuse; Shirley Kirshaw, Riverdale; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne "Nick" Anderson, Tremonton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, nine brothers, three sisters and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Chapel, 2140 North Washington Blvd.

Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
