Shirley Arlene Larson

Shirley Arlene Larson, 89, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015. She was born on December 13, 1925 in Staples, Minnesota, the daughter of George Harold and Anna Louise Eastman Young.
She married Melvin Owen, Sr., together they had 7 children. They later divorced. She married the love of her life George D. Larson on December 31, 1973 in Uintah. Shirley and George spent 40 years together enjoying each other and traveling together before George passed away on June 5, 2014.
Shirley was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She enjoyed crocheting, baking, and cooking.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Patsi (Jack) Miller, Clayton, WA; Mary Lou (Dennis) Richardson, Ogden; Shirlee (John) Saunders, Layton; and Kathy Anthon Gehrig, Layton; son, Daniel Robert (Robin) Owen; daughter-in-law, Linda Owen; stepchildren, Jeff (Nancy) Larson, Tom (Leslie) Larson, and Carol (Don) Summers; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; sons, Melvin L. Owen, Jr. and Michael B. Owen; son-in-law, Dennis L. Gehrig; sisters, Donna Jean Maloney and Mary Jane Call; and two brothers, Robert Young and Harold Young.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
