Shirley Lewis

June 8, 1930 — January 14, 2019

After a long separation, Shirley Orlean Fackrell Lewis reunited with her eternal companion on January 14, 2019 after 88 years of life on this earth.

She was born June 8, 1930 in Trenton, UT, the daughter of Orland and Alla May Rigby Fackrell.  She was the middle of five daughters, and was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother-Donald Fackrell and sisters-Connie Woodward, Vonda Castillo and Sandra Moss.

Shirley married Willard on August 20, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple.  They had seven children who are all ‘perfect little angels’ and she didn’t have a ‘throw away in the bunch.’

Willard built their first house in Clearfield in 1949 and then a larger one next door in 1964, where Shirley lived up until the last few months of her life.

As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she always served as a visiting teacher and in various callings throughout her life. She served a mission to Houston, TX and in the Ogden Temple.

Shirley filled her life loving and serving her children and continued that legacy with her 31 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.  She loved gardening and working in her yard.  The shade of her giant Sycamore tree will be forever remembered as the family gathering place. She always had a drawer full of candy for visitors, even her landscapers. Grandma only had ‘perfect’ people in her life and she loved us all unconditionally (even when we weren’t perfect.)

She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.  Shirley is survived by her children: Gerald (Sandra) Lewis, Wellsburg, WV; Bonnie (Mason) Hall, Las Vegas, NV; Diane (Scott) Hodge, Roy, UT; Richard (Kristi) Lewis, Missouri City, TX; Sandra (Ron) Hubbard, Clinton, UT; Jeffrey (Loralee) Lewis, Oro Valley, AZ; Jason (Nicole) Lewis, Clearfield, UT; and sister, Dania Lu (Alan) Muir.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11 AM at the Clearfield 7th Ward, 231 E 300 N, Clearfield.  Friends may visit with family Saturday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church. Interment: Clearfield City Cemetery.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
