Shirley Mae Remington Moore

FARMINGTON – Shirley Mae Remington Moore, 82, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014.

She was born April 3, 1932 in Randolph, New York the daughter of Merritt Jay and Elberta Agnes Walsh Remington.  Shirley moved to Utah in 1940 after her parents joined the LDS Church.  She also had lived in Salt Lake City, Layton, Sunset, Clearfield, Farmington, California, Texas, Colorado, Nevada and had traveled to Germany, Switzerland and France.

Shirley married Willard Olaf Honsvick on April 28, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah.    She married Robert Reed on December 2, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She married Donald Moore in Las Vegas, NV.  They later divorced.

Shirley was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings in the Primary, Young Women’s, Sunday school and Relief Society.  Her favorite calling was while she served in the Regional Handicapped Primary.  She served a mission to Alabama, a stake mission and in the Ogden Temple.

She had the opportunity to serve as a volunteer at the Davis Hospital.

Shirley loved to sew and to do arts and crafts.  She took great joy in sharing her talents with others.  Mom loved to make things and give away as surprises to make someone’s day and see them smile.  We have all worn or have the fruits of her talents.

Surviving are her son Charles Ray (Janet) Reed, Sandy; daughters, Cindy Lou Honsvick Porter, Farmington; Melonie Laine (Stephen) Smith, Santaquin; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and brother, James Merritt (Gay) Remington, Manti.

Preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Willard Honsvick, Robert Reed, Donald Moore, two sons, Robert Walsh Reed, Willard Jay Honsvick, and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington Rock Chapel, 272 N. Main Street.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
