Shirley Atkinson Muirbrook

April 2, 1926 ~ January 5, 2016

Shirley Atkinson Muirbrook, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. She was born at the Oneida County Hospital, Malad, ID on April 2, 1926.  She was raised in Samaria, ID, attended Samaria School, and graduated from Malad High School and LDS Seminary.

She married George A. Muirbrook on January 24, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Shirley was an active member of the West Warren Ward, holding various positions throughout the years.  She was a volunteer at Plain City Seniors Center.

Shirley is survived by her two daughters and five sons, Dian Carlin, Eldon (Glenna) Muirbrook, Jolene Muirbrook, Paul (Marla) Muirbrook, Allen Muirbrook, Ross (Doreen) Muirbrook, and Val (Roseann) Muirbrook; 26 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; and one brother, Keith Atkinson.  She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Muirbrook; parents, two brothers, Gerald and Dennis; grandson, Greg Muirbrook, and great-granddaughter, Shantel Carlin.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Warren / West Warren Cemetery.
