Shirley Pehrson Petrich, 78, passed away on Tuesday, July 31.2012. She was born on March 19, 1934 in Ogden, Utah at the old Dee Hospital to Earl Herman and Virginia Peterson Pehrson. She was the only child and enjoyed a secure, happy childhood.
She attended Washington Elementary and Polk Elementary, Central Junior High and graduated from Ogden High School. Before attending college Shirley worked at Bank of Utah as a bookkeeper. She received her teaching degree in Elementary Education at Utah State University, in Logan, Utah.
Shirley taught at E.M. Whitesides Elementary School in Davis County for 3 years. She then taught at Horace Mann Elementary School and C. H. Taylor Elementary School in Ogden City. She retired after 26 years of teaching. She was a very caring and loving teacher to her students.
She married Tom Petrich on November 21, 1975. They enjoyed many full years together. Shirley was a member of the LDS Church.
Shirley is survived by her sister-in-law, Pat Layton and cousin, LuDean McClain.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Mountain Ridge Care Center for their devoted car they provided ho her.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
