Shirley Mae Noble Rackham passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 8, 1925 in Ogden to Charles S. and Elsie Stone Noble. She lived her entire life in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1943. She began work in her senior year of high school during World War II at Defense Depot of Ogden and later worked for Producers Livestock Co.

In 1946 she met LaMar C. Rackham and they were married August 30, 1946 in Ogden. She retired from Producers in 1951 and became a fulltime homemaker.

In 1981 she began volunteering for Weber County Drug and Alcohol in their records department. That same year she started volunteering for Hospice of Northern Utah. In 1994 she received the Governors Silver Bowl award for the outstanding volunteer from Weber County.

She loved sports and was on several bowling leagues and golf associations where she held many offices. She was also a great bridge fan and loved all the ladies who play each week.

One of her favorite times was being on the reunion committee every five years since 1973 for her Ogden High School Class of 1943. Family gatherings at Thanksgiving, Christmas and patio parties in the summer were her favorite activities. Wonderful times were had with her many travels with her children all over the world.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, LaMar, her parents, two brothers, Sid and Ralph Noble, sister, Janet Noble Moriarty, son-in-law, Tom Deas, and three granddaughters.

She is survived by three sons, Steve (Ann) Rackham, North Ogden; James Rackham, Ogden; Robert (Maryanne) Rackham, Murray; one daughter, Susan Deas, Roy; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, special niece, Carol (Larry) Kitchuck; two sisters-in-law, Helen Noble, Farmington; Ella Noble, South Ogden; and many lifelong friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 9th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
