Shirley (Woods) Shumway, of Layton, UT, finally found her inner peace, April 12, 2010.

Shirley was born August 8, 1955 to Byron and Florence Woods in Puyallup, WA. She later moved to Tooele, UT where she attended Tooele High School. Shirley married Michael Romano on October 26, 1974 and later divorced. They had 3 children. Shirley married Bradley Shumway on September 27, 2002 and they lived together in Layton, UT.

Shirley enjoyed taking long drives and looking for wildlife. She had an amazing sense of humor and was loved by all who came in contact with her. Shirley had a very special relationship with her grandchildren.

She was survived by her husband Bradley Shumway of Layton; her three children, Mike Romano of Sunset, Melanie (Frank) Nekola of Clinton, and Chelsea Romano of Clinton; three stepchildren, Clinton and Jason Shumway of Layton, and Jacqueline Brown of Ogden; and eleven grandchildren.

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live ~Norman Cousins. Mom, may you be happy at last.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 12 noon at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, So. Ogden. Friends and family may call Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
